Seemanta Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences – SIPS Mayurbhanj , a leading Technical Institution in the state of Orissa which strategically located at Jharpokharia in the district of Mayurbhanj at the confluence of N.H.5 & 6 situated at about 30 kms from Baripada, the District Headquarter of Mayurbhanj, is approachable by road from all parts of state of Orissa and from outside states via Jamshedpur, Kharagpur & Balasore. The Seemanta institute of pharmaceutical sciences was established is 1982 by Seemanta Mahavidyalaya Samiti. The Samiti, setup since 1978 is responsible for developing, Jharpokharia in to an educational complex with five institutions namely such as Seemanta Mahavidyalaya, Seemanta Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, Seemanta Engineering college, Seemanta English Medium School, Seemanta ITI and thus has made a big stride to spread higher and Technical Education.
After inception with a Diploma course in Pharmacy with an intake of 60, the Seemanta Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences – SIPS Mayurbhanj started Bachelor of Pharmacy course in the year 1992 and the first batch of students passed out in 1996. The Institute admitted its 14th batch of students with an intake capacity of 60 in July 2005 in Bachelor of Pharmacy and 4th Batch of students with an intake capacity of 10 in Master of Pharmacy.
In order to produce quality pharmacist in terms of World standard the Seemanta Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences – SIPS Mayurbhanj has developed well furnished laboratories, library having a considerable stock of books, National & International Journals. Computer laboratory as per the stake of art and Internet facility through VSAT, well equipped Instrumental room, Separate Hostels for boys and girls inside the campus, Canteen, student's playground, seminar Hall, various teaching aids etc. Besides, the Seemanta Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences – SIPS Mayurbhanj has qualified and trained faculty who are committed to deliver quality education to the student. The Seemanta Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences – SIPS Mayurbhanj provides well furnished hostels separate boys and girls in the premises to accommodate 200 boys and 50 girls are there with all amenities. Diploma hostel with an intake capacity of 30 students have been provided. The student boarder has been provided with all sorts of facilities for in-door and out-doors games. The mess managed by a committee comprising of the Superintendents, students and Mess Manager for the better management, maintenance of hygiene, deciding the Menu of the week etc. The mess supply Lunch, Dinner as well as refreshments to the students. The institute has appointed chefs for the preparation of delicious and hygienic food. The Seemanta Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences – SIPS Mayurbhanj also to provide Internet facilities and it has on-line and off-line data base including International pharmaceutical Abstract, Medline for the students and faculty members to assist them in projects and research work. All the national daily newspapers on various languages have been provided with the students and all concerned to up-date their information.

Modern Computer laboratory with LAN connection (55 Nos Comp.) with 24 hours Internet facilities for the exposure of Students to website, Multimedia and Recent development in Pharma fields.

The canteen provides good quality nutritious food through out the year. The College has own guest house with well furnished room .The guest house is only provided to the guest lecturer form other University.
