Shree Jagadguru Moorusavirmath Vidyavardhak Sanghas Arts and Commerce College for Women - Hubli was established in 1967 under the benevolent guidance of His Holiness late Shrimanmaharaj Niranjan Jagadguru Dr.Gangadhar Rajayogeendra Mahaswamiji of Moorusavirmath,Hubli. At present it is guided by His Holiness Shriman Maharaj Niranjan Jagadguru Shree Gurusiddha Rajayogeendra Mahaswamiji of Moorusavirmath,Hubli.It is full fledged Shree Jagadguru Moorusavirmath Vidyavardhak Sanghas Arts and Commerce College for Women - Hubli accreditated at A level by NAACON may 2004 of applaudable service. It is dedicated exclusively for the cause of women's education, with the motto of molding young women by providing a holistic education. It is one of the oldest institutions with a large number of students representing different communities having a rural background. Shree Jagadguru Moorusavirmath Vidyavardhak Sanghas Arts and Commerce College for Women - Hubli stands as a monument for his passion of educating the girl child. The hospital at Ghataprabha is an epitome of his love for the suffering and the downtrodden. As a result of his unique vision he established the Business Administration College for Women and Women's ITI. His thirst for literature is evident from Shri Jagadguru Gangadhar Dharma Pracharak Mandal. Our Late Swamiji was popularly known by his pen name 'MOOJAGAM'. His Vachanas "Poorngnyana Vachanagalu" numbered more than 5000 contained the quintessence of his life and experience. In recognition of his outstanding achievements in various fields, the Karnatak University, Dharwad has conferred on him the honorary degree of 'Doctor' in 1994.

It has a three stored building with an excellent, well trained teaching and administrative staff, headed by the Principal, Prof.Shobha B.Hittalmani. The Government of Karnataka started the Women’s University at Bijapur in the year 2003-04. As a policy of the Government the entire existing Shree Jagadguru Moorusavirmath Vidyavardhak Sanghas Arts and Commerce College for Women - Hubli affiliated to Karnataka University and Gulbarga University were re-affiliated to this new University. Our students were deprived of continuing their education in the commerce stream (M.Com), as there was no such course in this University. Further, the K.U.D and Gulbarga Universities were given admission to our students only at 2% of their intake capacity. This had created a great problem, the Higher Education (M. Com.) become the nightmare to the students who were graduated in this University. Hence, the Hubli based Shree Jagadguru Moorusavirmath Vidyavardhak Sanghas Arts and Commerce College for Women - Hubli, has made an earnest effort to start the M.Com. Course to meet the demand of girls’ students to continue their higher education.
It consists of various departments - Debating Union, Arts Circle, Student Welfare catering to the various needs of the students.For the physical development of the students the Shree Jagadguru Moorusavirmath Vidyavardhak Sanghas Arts and Commerce College for Women - Hubli has a well equipped Gymkhana department. This department is committed for achieving excellence in the field of sports. It has succeeded in producing number of university blues in indoor and outdoor games.

The students hostel is a two stored building with 30 rooms and 3 utility halls situated just opposite the college. The working women's hostel is situated at Bendigeri Oni, Hubli.Shree Jagadguru Moorusavirmath Vidyavardhak Sanghas Arts and Commerce College for Women - Hubli organises various community service programmes, with the intention to create awareness among the students and women folk, like blood donation, blood grouping, healthy checkup camps, HIV awareness, visit to destitute homes and orphanages, literary programmes, yoga and meditation, spritual lectures etc.We have a well maintained canteen at subsidised rates.
